Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 3 or 4 apples, sliced
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together.
  2. Work in butter with fingertips until crumbly.
  3. Add milk and mix to form a batter.
  4. Line the bottom and sides of a well-greased mold with a mixture of sugar, salt, and nutmeg.
  5. Place sliced apples inside the mold.
  6. Pour the batter over the apples.
  7. Steam for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
  8. Serve with a cream sauce.
