Ingredients

  • 1 recipe cornbread
  • 7 to 8 slices bread, toasted on both sides
  • 4 to 6 bunches green onions, chopped
  • 1 bundle celery, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 4 to 5 cups broth
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • cooked chicken liver

Instructions

  1. Make cornbread and crumble it with toasted bread slices.
  2. Mix chopped green onions and chopped celery; cook in a small amount of water until tender.
  3. Combine the cornbread with the cooked onion and celery mixture, beaten eggs, and melted butter.
  4. Add enough broth to moisten the mixture; season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish and heat uncovered at 375°F for 30 minutes.
