Super Meat Loaf

A savory meatloaf with a hint of sweetness from brown sugar and catsup topping, perfect for a hearty family meal or casual gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef or chuck
  • 1 slice bread
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 egg
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place bread in blender and blend until finely ground.
  2. Add ground beef to the bread in a mixing bowl.
  3. In the blender, combine water, celery, and onion until blended, then add to the meat mixture.
  4. Add egg to the blender and blend, then add to the meat mixture.
  5. Mix all ingredients thoroughly, then place in a loaf pan and score the top.
  6. Top with a mixture of 2 tablespoons brown sugar and 2 tablespoons catsup.
  7. Cook in the microwave for 18 to 20 minutes.
  8. Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.
  9. Alternatively, bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 1 to 1 1/4 hours.
