Tips & Substitutions

For best results, use a good quality round steak and allow it to come to room temperature before cooking. If you want a slightly spicier sauce, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce. You can substitute the round steak with flank or sirloin for a leaner option. If you prefer, Greek yogurt can replace sour cream for a lighter version.

Serving Suggestions

This dish pairs beautifully with buttered noodles or mashed potatoes to soak up the delicious sour cream sauce. A side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad can complement the richness of the steak. For a complete meal, serve with crusty bread to enjoy every bit of the sauce.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently warm the steak in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of water or broth to keep it moist. Alternatively, you can microwave it in short intervals until heated through, but be careful not to overcook.
