A flavorful and creamy spicy beef dip with rich tomato and cheese flavors, perfect for parties and served with crackers or rye for a satisfying appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 c. catsup
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. dried oregano, crushed
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic in a skillet until the meat is lightly browned and the onion is tender.
  2. Stir in tomato sauce, catsup, sugar, and crushed oregano.
  3. Cover and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
  4. Spoon off excess fat and remove from heat.
  5. Add softened cream cheese and heat, stirring until the cheese is melted and well combined.
  6. Keep warm in a chafing dish or fondue pot.
  7. Serve with crackers or party rye.
