Ingredients

  • 1 (No. 2) can cream-style corn
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • salt
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 pkg. fine noodles
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • pepper
  • 1 can tomato soup

Instructions

  1. Put cream-style corn and canned tomatoes in a kettle and cook with salt and 2 tablespoons of butter.
  2. Boil the noodles, then wash and drain them.
  3. Melt the remaining tablespoon of butter in a skillet and sauté chopped onions, green pepper, and mushrooms slowly until the onion is clear.
  4. Add chopped celery, ground beef, and pepper; cook until well done.
  5. Add the cooked meat and vegetables to the corn, tomatoes, and tomato soup mixture. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the mixture and simmer everything together for 30 minutes.
  7. Let the casserole stand in the refrigerator overnight if possible.
  8. One hour before serving, transfer the mixture to a buttered baking dish.
  9. Dot generously with butter and grated cheese, then bake at 325°F for 1 hour.
