Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground raw turkey ⓘ
- 1 1/2 chopped onion ⓘ
- 1 clove minced garlic ⓘ
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 to 2 tablespoons chili powder ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon paprika ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 2 16-ounce cans red kidney beans, drained ⓘ
- 2 4-ounce cans mushrooms stems and pieces ⓘ
- 1 14 1/2-ounce can diced tomatoes with green chiles ⓘ
- 1 bay leaf ⓘ
Instructions
- Brown the ground turkey, chopped onion, and minced garlic in a large pot, then drain drippings.
- Add water, chili powder, dried parsley flakes, paprika, dry mustard, salt, drained kidney beans, mushrooms, diced tomatoes with green chiles, and the bay leaf to the pot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to simmer for 1 hour.
- Uncover and continue to simmer for an additional hour, stirring occasionally.
- Discard the bay leaf before serving.
