Ingredients

  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. softened butter
  • 2 Tbsp. caraway seed
  • 1 c. golden raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an angel food cake pan; set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk, sugar, and softened butter until well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and caraway seed.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the golden raisins gently.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before removing from the pan and serving.
