Ingredients

  • 1 medium red cabbage
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. Remove outside leaves from cabbage.
  2. Wash cabbage.
  3. Shred to measure 5 cups.
  4. In a saucepan, heat 1/2-inch salted water and 2 tablespoons vinegar to boiling.
  5. Add cabbage. Cover and heat to boiling. Cook about 5 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain.
