Ingredients

  • 6 slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 1 lb hot sausage
  • 1 tsp prepared mustard
  • 1 cup grated Swiss cheese or 2 cups grated Mozzarella
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • dash pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown sausage, stirring to break up.
  2. Drain the cooked sausage.
  3. Place bread slices in the bottom of a greased 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish.
  4. Spread crumbled sausage over the bread.
  5. Top with grated Swiss cheese or mozzarella.
  6. In a bowl, beat eggs and mix with milk, salt, pepper, nutmeg, prepared mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the casserole.
  8. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, uncovered.
