Taglarini is a hearty and flavorful dish combining seasoned ground beef, tomatoes, corn, and olives, simmered with spices and served over macaroni with melted cheddar cheese. Its bold flavors and comforting texture make it perfect for casual family dinners or gatherings with friends.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef ⓘ
- 1 large onion, chopped ⓘ
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped ⓘ
- 1 (14.5 oz.) can tomatoes with juice, chopped ⓘ
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce ⓘ
- 1 (16 1/2 oz.) can cream-style corn ⓘ
- 1 (2 1/2 oz.) can black olives, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil ⓘ
- salt to taste ⓘ
- pepper to taste ⓘ
- red pepper to taste ⓘ
Instructions
- In a large heavy pot, combine chopped tomatoes, tomato sauce, cream-style corn, and chopped black olives; slowly heat.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sauté chopped onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add the sautéed onions and garlic to the pot.
- In the skillet, sauté ground beef until the red color is gone, then add it to the pot.
- Carefully add salt, pepper, red pepper, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and chile powder to taste.
- Cook the mixture for about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in cooked macaroni and remove from heat.
- Garnish with sliced cheddar cheese and a few chopped black olives.
