Talerine is a hearty baked casserole combining ground beef, noodles, vegetables, and cheese, perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings with rich, comforting flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 pint tomato juice
  • 1 can whole kernel corn
  • 3/4 lb. grated mild cheese
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 can mushrooms (optional)
  • 2 cups small egg noodles

Instructions

  1. Brown the chopped onion in a little fat.
  2. Add the ground beef and brown it.
  3. Cook the small egg noodles until tender.
  4. Mix the cooked noodles, browned beef and onion, tomato juice, tomato soup, whole kernel corn, mushrooms (if using), and three-quarters of the grated cheese in a greased casserole dish.
  5. Save a little cheese to sprinkle on top.
  6. Bake at 325°F for 45 minutes.
