Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. large shell shape pasta
  • 1 pkg. (2 cups) Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 small container Ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3 to 6 links hot sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • dash of oregano
  • dash of basil
  • dash of Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef, sausage, onion, green pepper, garlic, and spices in a skillet.
  2. Drain off excess fat.
  3. Add tomato paste and peeled tomatoes to the skillet.
  4. Simmer the sauce for a couple of hours to develop flavors.
  5. Cook large shell-shaped pasta shells until al dente.
  6. Mix ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, egg, parsley flakes, and seasonings to prepare the filling.
  7. Stuff cooked shells with the cheese mixture.
  8. Layer shells in a baking dish and pour the sauce over them.
  9. Bake until heated through and bubbly, approximately 30 minutes.
