- To thaw, unwrap chicken and place, breast side down, on a microwave roasting rack in a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Microwave at Medium-low (30% power) for 10 minutes.
- Turn chicken, breast side up; shield wing tips, tail, and ends of legs with foil. Microwave chicken at Medium-low for 10 minutes, or until chicken is soft but still very cold.
- Run cold water inside chicken until giblets can be removed; reserve giblets for other uses.
- Rinse chicken cavity with cold water until chicken is no longer icy. Pat dry.
