Texas Toffee

Instructions
- Line a pan with foil and place saltine crackers flat on the bottom.
- In a saucepan, boil butter and brown sugar together for 3 minutes.
- Spread the hot butter-sugar mixture evenly over the crackers.
- Bake in a 400°F (200°C) oven for 5 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
- Return to the oven for a few minutes until the chocolate melts.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the surface.
- Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
- Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces.
