- Lightly grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
- Line the pan with waxed paper and grease the paper.
- Mix raisins, maraschino cherries, dates, almonds, and walnut pieces in a large mixing bowl.
- Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar over the fruit and nut mixture; toss to coat evenly.
- Set aside. Beat eggs until foamy, then add vanilla.
- Pour the beaten eggs and vanilla over the fruit mixture and stir just until blended.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 1 1/2 hours.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack.
