Ingredients

  • 4 qts popcorn
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • nuts

Instructions

  1. Spread popcorn and nuts in a large pan.
  2. In a large saucepan, stir together brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup, and salt.
  3. Cook over medium heat until it boils, stirring constantly.
  4. Continue cooking without stirring for 5 more minutes.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in vanilla and baking soda.
  7. Pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn and nuts to coat well.
  8. Bake at 250°F uncovered for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
