- Beat butter until creamy, then beat in brown sugar, vanilla, and egg yolk.
- Stir in flour and 1 cup of toffee bits.
- Press the mixture into an ungreased jelly roll pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 18-20 minutes or until light brown.
- Immediately pour chocolate chips over the hot bars and let sit for 5 minutes, then spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining toffee bits on top and let set.
- Cut into 2-inch squares and enjoy.
