Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. baking molasses
  • 1 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 4 c. flour, sifted very lightly

Instructions

  1. Cream sugar well with margarine.
  2. Stir soda into buttermilk.
  3. Combine the ingredients and drop on a greased and floured cookie sheet.
  4. Brush top with well beaten egg.
  5. Bake at 375°F for approximately 10 to 12 minutes.
