Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 2 c. canned tomatoes
  • 3 qt. water
  • 1 c. potatoes, diced
  • 1 c. carrots, sliced
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 c. green beans (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 c. raw rice

Instructions

  1. Brown hamburger in a small amount of cooking oil in a frying pan.
  2. Place the browned hamburger and all remaining ingredients in a 6-quart kettle.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 1/2 hours, until vegetables are tender.
