Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. bacon, chopped and cooked
  • 2 c. diced potatoes
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 c. finely chopped onions
  • 1 c. finely chopped celery
  • 2 (6 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams
  • 1 qt. half and half cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare and chop the vegetables (onions and celery).
  2. Place the prepared vegetables in a saucepan.
  3. Drain the juice from the canned minced clams and pour it over the vegetables in the saucepan.
  4. Add enough water to barely cover the vegetables and clam juice.
  5. Simmer, covered, over medium heat until the potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
