Ingredients

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 14 oz caramel candy
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 small can flaked coconut
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions.
  2. Pour half of the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes.
  4. While the cake is baking, melt the caramel candies with evaporated milk until smooth.
  5. Spread the caramel mixture over the baked cake layer.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped nuts over the caramel layer.
  7. Top with flaked coconut.
