Ingredients

  • 6 cups chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 cup uncooked instant rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 (10 3/4 oz.) cans condensed tomato soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped cabbage in a greased 2 1/2-quart baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion until done.
  3. Stir in uncooked instant rice, salt, and pepper, if desired.
  4. Spoon the beef mixture over the cabbage in the baking dish.
  5. Combine the condensed tomato soup and water; pour over the beef mixture.
  6. Cover and bake at 350°F for 40 to 50 minutes or until rice and cabbage are tender.
  7. Uncover and sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  8. Bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
