Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using a mix of wild mushrooms instead of just button mushrooms. If veal is not available, you can substitute with beef stew meat. To enhance the dish, add a splash of balsamic vinegar along with the Marsala wine for added depth. Make sure to brown the veal well for maximum flavor, similar to techniques used in Mediterranean recipes.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this dish over steamed white rice to soak up the delicious sauce. It can also be paired with a fresh green salad or roasted vegetables for a well-rounded meal. For a delightful twist, consider serving alongside Mediterranean Chicken And Penne or a side of Lentil Pilaf for a heartier accompaniment.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place the veal and sauce in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of chicken broth if necessary to prevent sticking. Heat until warmed through. This dish can also be frozen for up to 3 months; thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.

Can I use a different type of meat for this recipe?

Yes, you can substitute veal with beef or even chicken if you prefer. Just be mindful that cooking times may vary; chicken will generally take less time to become tender than veal.

What can I do if I don't have Marsala wine?

If you don't have Marsala wine, you can use a dry sherry or white wine as a substitute. For a non-alcoholic option, consider using a mixture of grape juice and a splash of vinegar to mimic the acidity of wine.
