Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Put cooking oil in a measuring cup.
  2. Add Crisco until the oil rises to the top ring.
  3. Add sugar and eggs; beat until well combined.
  4. Sift dry ingredients together: flour, soda, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix well.
  6. Roll into tiny balls and press with the solid bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
  7. Bake at 375°F for about 8 minutes or until lightly golden.
  8. Use ungreased cookie sheets for baking.
