Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup salad oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 large can pumpkin
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2/3 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream sugar and oil.
  2. Add eggs and pumpkin to the mixture. Mix well.
  3. Sift together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, and ground cloves.
  4. Combine the dry mixture with the pumpkin mixture, blending well.
  5. Pour the batter into two greased and floured bread pans.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 1/2 hours or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Cool the bread for at least 10 minutes before removing from pans and slicing.
