Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Sift together flour and sugar.
  2. In a saucepan, add butter, cocoa, and warm water.
  3. Bring to a boil and pour over dry ingredients.
  4. Mix well, then add buttermilk, baking soda, eggs, and vanilla.
  5. Mix well again.
  6. Pour into a large oblong pan.
  7. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
