Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  • 1 package cream cheese (8 oz.)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 large container Cool Whip
  • 2 small packages instant chocolate pudding
  • milk

Instructions

  1. Blend flour, margarine, and chopped nuts together; press into an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
  3. Allow the crust to cool completely.
  4. In a bowl, blend cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  5. Fold in Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Spread the cream cheese and Cool Whip mixture evenly over the cooled crust.
  7. Prepare the chocolate pudding according to the package instructions using milk.
  8. Spread the cooled pudding over the cream cheese layer.
  9. Top with the remaining Cool Whip and sprinkle with nuts or coconut if desired.
  10. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
