- Heat water, cream-style cottage cheese, honey, and butter until the temperature reaches 120° to 130°.
- Lightly spoon flour into cups and level off.
- Combine warm liquid, 2 cups unbleached flour, sugar, salt, dry yeast, and egg in a large bowl; beat for 2 minutes at medium speed.
- By hand, stir in remaining flour to make a stiff dough.
- Knead dough on a well-floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 2 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place until light and doubled in size, about 45 to 60 minutes.
- Grease two 9x5-inch loaf pans.
- Punch down the dough, divide and shape into two loaves.
- Place the loaves in the greased pans, cover, and let rise in a warm place until light and doubled in size, about 45 to 60 minutes.
- Heat oven to 350°F and bake the loaves for 40 to 50 minutes until deep golden brown and the loaves sound hollow when tapped.
- Remove the bread immediately from the pans.
