Who Dat Chili
Ingredients
- -1.5 lbs beef stew cubes ⓘ
- -1.5 lbs ground beef ⓘ
- -5 slices bacon ⓘ
- -1 red pepper, chopped
- -1 green pepper, chopped ⓘ
- -3 medium-sized onions, chopped ⓘ
- -1 28 oz crushed tomatoes ⓘ
- -1 small can tomato paste ⓘ
- -1 cup dried pinto beans ⓘ
- -1 cup dried kidney beans ⓘ
- -2 bottles of sam adams beer ⓘ
- -6 cloves garlic ⓘ
- -2 T cumin ⓘ
- -2 T chili powder
- -1 1/2 tsp salt ⓘ
- -1 tsp sugar ⓘ
- -lime juice-coupla shakes ⓘ
- -2 jalapeno peppers, deseeded, destemmed, deribbed and minced ⓘ

- -sour cream ⓘ
- -grated cheese ⓘ
- -cilantro, chopped ⓘ
- -soft loaf of bread ⓘ
- -hot sauce ⓘ
Instructions
- -Prepare beans. Put beans in a pot of cold water and bring to boil. Boil for 5 minutes then bring down to simmer and prepare beef. Drain when beans are beginning to get tender.
- -Prepare meat. cook bacon til crispy. Save bacon grease. crumble bacon, set aside. clean out pan. brown beef cubes at high heat, using 1 T bacon grease with each time make sure not to cook too many cubes at a time to avoid steaming. use slotted spoon and set aside beef cubes. brown ground beef. drain.
- -in pot, saute gariic and onions briefly, then add all the ingredients. Bring to boil then down to simmer. Simmer until beef cubes and beans are tender (about 1 hour), stirring on an ongoing basis.
- -serve with toppings and smile!
