Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/8 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine
  • 1 shredded medium potato
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, tomato sauce, lemon juice, garlic salt, and wine.
  2. Simmer until sauce is thick, about 20 to 30 minutes.
  3. Combine shredded potato, ground beef, chopped onion, egg, and salt.
  4. Shape into small balls.
  5. Bake in a 350°F oven until cooked through and lightly browned.
  6. Drain off fat and pour the sauce over the meatballs before serving.
