- Heat oven to 325°F.
- Grease an 8 x 8 x 2‑inch square baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix grated yams, milk, light corn syrup, beaten eggs, softened margarine, packed brown sugar, ground cinnamon, salt, and ground nutmeg.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared dish.
- Bake until a knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean, about 1 hour.
- Serve with cream or ice cream.
