Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons dark corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons soft butter
  • 3 cups mashed cooked yams
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 8 marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix brown sugar, dark corn syrup, and soft butter.
  2. Spread the sugar mixture on the bottom of a 9-inch baking dish.
  3. Mix mashed cooked yams with pepper and salt.
  4. Drop the yam mixture in 8 portions onto the sugar mixture.
  5. Top with marshmallows and chopped nuts.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F for about 30 minutes.
