Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 bag youngberries or 1 (No. 2) can berries

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and 1/4 cup sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add sifted dry ingredients and alternate with milk, beating until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into a greased casserole dish.
  4. Drain the berries and pour over the batter.
  5. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar.
  6. Pour 1 cup of berry juice over all.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes.
