Ingredients

  • 1 c. oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Beat oil, eggs, and buttermilk well in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add sugar, cocoa, salt, flour, and soda; beat well to combine.
  3. Add boiling water and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 11 x 17-inch sheet pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
