Zeppolis are crispy, golden fried dough balls with a hint of vanilla and ricotta, perfect as a sweet snack or dessert for gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1.5 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1.5 pounds Ricotta cheese
  • 1.25 cups milk
  • pinch of salt
  • hot oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl.
  2. In another bowl, beat eggs for 3 minutes.
  3. Add Ricotta; beat for another 3 minutes.
  4. Add vanilla extract.
  5. Add flour mixture alternately with milk and mix well.
  6. Drop batter from a teaspoon into hot oil.
  7. Fry until golden brown.
  8. Sprinkle with sugar and serve warm or cold.
