Ingredients

  • 1 cup (6 oz.) Nestle Toll House White Morsels
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) Land O Lakes Butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons grated lemon peel
  • 1 1/3 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 359 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour a 10-cup Bundt pan.
  2. Melt the white morsels in a medium microwave-safe bowl for one minute.
  3. Microwave at additional 10 to 20 second intervals, stirring until smooth; cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Stir in grated lemon peel.
  7. Gradually add the flour and baking powder, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour, mixing just until combined.
  8. Fold in the melted morsels.
  9. Pour batter into prepared Bundt pan and smooth the top.
  10. Bake for approximately 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Allow cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with fresh lemon juice to make glaze.
  13. Drizzle the lemon glaze over the cooled cake before serving.
