Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup white Karo syrup
  • 1 cup oleo, melted
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 (6 oz.) can frozen orange juice
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • lemon or vanilla flavor

Instructions

  1. Put everything but the eggs into a large bowl and mix together.
  2. Fold the beaten eggs into the mixture last.
  3. Transfer the batter into muffin tins and bake until golden brown and cooked through.
