Apple Duff features tender baked apples stuffed with cinnamon, raisins, and brown sugar, wrapped in flaky puff pastry, served with whipped cream for a comforting sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 4 dessert apples
  • 2 oz brown sugar
  • 2 oz raisins
  • cinnamon to taste
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 pint cream whipped
  • 1 package (12 oz) puff pastry

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Peel and core the apples, then stuff their centers with a mixture of brown sugar, raisins, and cinnamon.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into four circles approximately 8 inches in diameter.
  4. Place an apple in the center of each pastry circle and brush the edge with beaten egg.
  5. Draw up the pastry to enfold the apple, pressing the edges to seal.
  6. Brush the tops of the pastry with the remaining beaten egg.
  7. Bake in a shallow dish for 40 minutes.
  8. Serve the Apple Duffs with whipped cream.
