Ingredients

  • 2 c. applesauce
  • 1 tsp. grated lemon rind
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Pour applesauce into a bowl and add grated lemon rind and ground nutmeg.
  2. Beat egg whites until frothy with cream of tartar.
  3. Slowly add brown sugar and beat until egg whites form stiff peaks.
  4. Gently fold 1/3 of the beaten egg whites into the applesauce mixture, then fold in the remaining egg whites until well combined.
