Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 large baking apple, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Butter and flour a 10-inch springform pan.
  2. Line the bottom of the pan with waxed paper.
