Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 3/4 cup apricot preserves

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter with sugar until smooth.
  2. Mix in egg yolks one at a time.
  3. Add flour and mix until combined.
  4. Stir in chopped pecans.
  5. Use your hands to form the dough.
  6. Grease an 8-inch square pan.
  7. Press half of the dough into the pan to form the base.
  8. Spread 2 tablespoons of apricot preserves over the dough.
  9. Place the remaining dough on top of the preserves.
  10. Spread the remaining apricot preserves on top of the dough.
  11. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 1 hour.
