Ingredients

  • 1 lb. mild sausage
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 4 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1 box chicken noodle soup mix, dry
  • 1/2 cup raw rice
  • chopped parsley
  • 1 can water chestnuts

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausage, then drain the excess fat.
  2. Bring 4 1/2 cups of boiling water to a boil, add the dry chicken noodle soup mix and raw rice, and cook for 7 minutes.
  3. Add chopped onion and green pepper to the cooked sausage.
  4. Combine the cooked sausage and vegetables with the rice mixture and place in a baking dish.
  5. Top with water chestnuts, then cover and bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
