Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 sticks butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition.
  3. Mix baking soda with sour cream.
  4. Sift dry ingredients together (cake flour and baking powder).
  5. Alternately add dry ingredients and sour cream to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  6. Fold in mashed bananas and chopped pecans.
  7. Pour batter into a greased 8 x 13-inch baking pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
