Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 3 cups vanilla wafers
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 ripe bananas
  • 2 (20 oz.) cans crushed pineapple
  • 2 cans Thank You brand cherries
  • 1 tub Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Melt one stick of butter in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Crush 3 cups of vanilla wafers.
  3. Mix crushed wafers with melted butter and pack well in the pan; refrigerate until firm.
  4. Beat powdered sugar and soft butter at high speed until creamy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition.
  6. Spread the mixture on the prepared cracker crust.
  7. Slice bananas oblong and let them sit in pineapple juice to prevent browning.
  8. Place banana slices on top of the mixture.
  9. Drain crushed pineapple and spread on top of bananas.
  10. Place cherries on top of the pineapple layer.
  11. Top with Cool Whip.
  12. Optional: sprinkle with 1/4 cup chopped nuts.
  13. Chill overnight or for at least 4 hours before serving.
