- 4 Tbsp. brown sugar ⓘ
- 3 Tbsp. lemon juice ⓘ
- 3 Tbsp. white vinegar ⓘ
- 3 Tbsp. A.1. sauce ⓘ
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. dry mustard ⓘ
- 1 medium onion, chopped fine ⓘ
- 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder ⓘ
- 2 c. catsup ⓘ
- 1 tsp. Heinz savory sauce
- 4 lb. well trimmed round or sirloin beef, cut in small pieces ⓘ
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce ahead of time and simmer until flavors meld.
- In a saucepan, combine margarine, brown sugar, lemon juice, white vinegar, A.1. sauce, salt, dry mustard, chopped onion, chili powder, ketchup, and Heinz savory sauce.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the sauce simmers, cut the beef into small pieces.
- Add the beef to the prepared sauce and cook until the meat is tender and well coated, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
