Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 3/4 lb ground pork
  • 1 1/3 cups hickory smoked barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup packaged dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Beat the egg in a bowl.
  3. Mix in ground beef, ground pork, 2/3 cup of barbecue sauce, bread crumbs, chopped parsley, grated onion, chopped garlic, and salt.
  4. Shape the mixture into six loaves, each about 3/4 cup, measuring approximately 4 x 2 x 1 inches, and place on a jelly-roll pan.
  5. Top each loaf with about 2 tablespoons of remaining barbecue sauce.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  7. Let stand on the pan for 10 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve immediately or cool completely, then refrigerate and serve cold.
