Ingredients

  • 1 lb navy beans
  • 1/4 large carrot, grated
  • 1/4 onion, grated
  • 1/2 stick celery, grated
  • ham
  • 1 cup Bisquick
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup water or milk

Instructions

  1. Cook navy beans, grated carrot, grated onion, grated celery, and ham together as for soup.
  2. Mix dry ingredients (Bisquick and flour) with water or milk to form a dough.
  3. Roll the dough thin and cut into 1½-inch squares.
  4. Drop the dumpling squares into the boiling bean soup.
  5. Lower the heat and cook for 15 minutes or until the dumplings are cooked through.
