Ingredients

  • 1 can beans
  • pasta sauce
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 onion
  • bread crumbs or crackers
  • vegetable oil
  • lettuce
  • cheese (optional)
  • ketchup

Instructions

  1. Drain the juice from the beans and crush them in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add pasta sauce, diced green pepper, and diced onion to the mashed beans.
  3. Mix in bread crumbs or crushed crackers until the mixture can be formed into patties.
  4. Heat 1/8 cup vegetable oil in a pan and grill the patties until browned on both sides.
  5. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, cheese (optional), and desired condiments, then serve.
