Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. flank steak
  • 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. liquid smoke
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/3 tsp. garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Slice beef across the grain into 1/4-inch thick slices.
  2. Place the beef slices in a shallow dish.
  3. In a small bowl, combine seasoned salt, pepper, soy sauce, liquid smoke, onion powder, Worcestershire, and garlic powder; pour over beef.
  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Preheat oven to 150°F (65°C).
  6. Lay beef strips on a rack set over an aluminum foil-lined pan.
  7. Place in oven; prop oven door open with a pencil to allow moisture to escape.
  8. Bake for 8 to 12 hours, or until meat is dry and chewy.
